I started many years ago making wooden toys that moved in various ways which I painted with acrylic paints. I am fascinated by kinetic art of all kinds, but unfortunately I do not have a mind that can grasp mechanics readily, and it was slow and frustrating! 20 years ago I became chemically sensitive from many years of working with house paint, and I had to switch my art mediums to watercolors, colored pencils, and all things completly non toxic. This did not work painting directly on wood, so I began teaching myself other techniques. I still wanted to be able to make movable wooden things so I discovered that I could color copy my watercolor paintings, glue them onto wood, seal them, cut out elements, and reassemble them to make movable pieces. It made it possible to make duplicates and they can be priced accordingly. Mostly I like the pendulum format in which the middle piece moves back and forth between the foreground and the background. here are a few examples. If you would like to know more about these contact me.

Many of my current pieces are pictures inspired by my monthly trips to Brooklyn to see my grandson and his family. Until the pandemic, which has kept me off the bus, I went back and forth every month since he was born 13 years ago. For a small town girl the excitement of being a tiny part of the hugest city has been so inspiring .
